Exhibition: “THE PRISONERS OF THE MONASTERY. Memories of the Spanish Civil War”

On 16 November, the exhibition “The Prisoners of the Monastery” was inaugurated, showcasing the well-known writings left by prisoners who inhabited the Monastery during its period as a prison in the years of the Spanish Civil War.

These inscriptions, mostly written in pencil and hidden for over 80 years on the walls of rooms on the building’s first floor, have undergone an extensive restoration process. They can now be viewed by the general public as part of the guided tours of the monument.
