ECO, the Centro Dramático Galego production, postponed to 26 September

We regret to announce that ECO, originally scheduled for Saturday 11 September, has been postponed. The performance will now take place on Sunday 26 September, with three exclusive performances in the afternoon. Directed by AveLina Pérez, each performance will be limited to an audience of 30 people.

The Monastery will provide the setting for ECO, an immersive theatrical production directed by AveLina Pérez and co-produced by the Centro Dramático Galego. The production features an original score by Ramón Raíndo, lighting design by Beatriz de Vega, photography by Martín Pol, and video editing by Jesús Tejada.

The play revisits the Monastery’s history as a concentration camp during the Spanish Civil War. Its narrative is inspired by the messages, drawings and inscriptions left by prisoners on the monastery walls—powerful testimonies of fear, suffering, hope and resilience—which together form a moving tribute to all those who lived through those events.

On Sunday 26 September, performances will take place at 4:30 pm, 6:00 pm, and 7:30 pm.

Tickets are now available for €6 by emailing info@mosteirodeoia.com. Each performance is limited to 30 attendees, creating an intimate theatrical experience while ensuring all current safety measures are respected.

Admission also includes access to the permanent exhibition “The Prisoners of the Monastery: Memories of the Spanish Civil War”, one of Galicia’s most significant projects dedicated to preserving historical memory. The exhibition features more than 100 restored inscriptions and drawings, now permanently displayed in one of the Monastery’s historic halls.
