Mare Group celebrates 50 years driving projects with social, cultural and heritage impact

The year 2026 marks a special milestone for MARE Group, which celebrates its 50th anniversary while reaffirming its commitment to Galicia’s economic, cultural and social development through its various initiatives and companies: Kaleido Ideas & Logistics, the Monastery of Oia, and the Bretal Foundation.

Five decades after its origins, the group marks this date not only as a celebration of its business trajectory, but also as an opportunity to highlight projects that generate a positive impact on the surrounding environment and contribute to preserving the cultural identity of the region.

The Monastery of Oia, a key feature of the commemoration

As part of this anniversary, the Monastery of Oia will play a prominent role as one of the major heritage landmarks linked to the group. The monastery, designated a Cultural Interest Goods 95 years ago, continues to establish itself as a reference point for heritage dissemination, culture, and the connection between history and community.

Throughout the year, a special cultural and outreach programme will be developed around the Monastery, with public activities aimed at bringing its history and heritage value closer to visitors, local residents and partners. These include the celebration of the 95th anniversary of its BIC designation, summer guided tours, cultural gatherings, and various initiatives focused on enhancing the site’s value.

A sustainable development model rooted in Galicia

The anniversary celebration also reflects a shared vision across MARE Group entities: to promote sustainable projects connected to the territory and designed to generate long-term value.

“Reaching 50 years means looking back with pride, but above all understanding the responsibility we have towards the future and the environment we are part of,” the group states.

Across business, cultural and foundation-led activities, MARE Group has developed initiatives over the decades linked to international logistics, heritage conservation, cultural promotion, and support for social and educational projects.

The anniversary will be celebrated throughout 2026 with a series of activities combining heritage, culture, sport and community, reinforcing the long-standing bond between the group and Galicia.
