A balance between maximum respect for heritage and\neconomic profitability, between the social and cultural evolution, and the\nenhancement of a unique asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the beginning, both the authorities and the property were clear that the current urban framework does not allow the viability of the rehabilitation of the monastery as a hotel business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As it is not possible to make a profit due to the necessary investment in the 7,500 m2 constructed area and the 57,000 m2 of total surface area.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-column coblocks-column-391354430\" style=\"width:50%\"><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-column__inner has-no-padding has-no-margin\">\n<p>For this reason, in 2004 it was agreed with the local and regional administrations that the RMO project would fit within the new \u2018Plan Xeral de Ordenaci\u00f3n Urban\u00edstica (PXOM)\u2019- urban framework- for next approval. Green belt along the Lavandeira river, free for public use and integrated with the environment. It improves the visibility of the monastery.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Closure of the Naranjos courtyard as planned by the monks to build between 38 and 72 bedrooms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Residential area at the northern perimeter of the 57,000 m2 area surrounding the existing housing, with the prior authorization of the regional Administration.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-hacce-wrapper\"><div class=\"container\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-row coblocks-row-227153035868\" data-columns=\"2\" data-layout=\"50-50\"><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-row__inner has-small-gutter has-no-padding has-no-margin is-stacked-on-mobile\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-column coblocks-column-227153038345\" style=\"width:50%\"><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-column__inner has-no-padding has-no-margin\">\n<p class=\"mayusculas\">During the following years it was\nevidenced that the urban framework (PXOM) was not viable, and for that reason\nin 2011 a new Urban Agreement was signed with the City Council, who will define\nthe process to follow to give urban viability to the Monastery project.
